Searching for Happiness in the Wrong Places

8/27/2017

I read something the other day which really made an impression on me.  It said:

"Things were meant to be used
And people were meant to be loved.
What is wrong today is that  things are being loved
And people are being used".

No wonder we so often feel out of sync,  unfulfilled and unhappy.
Things will not make you happy.

Yes, the new shoes or the new car or  the new phone are great for a short time and we can enjoy them.  But they won't fix any underlying problems and soon your mood will revert back to what it was before.

Don't look to things for happiness. Don't look outside yourself for contentment. Take time to work out who you are and what you really want. Only when you really understand and appreciate yourself can you find contentment in your life.

Take time for yourself.  Take care of yourself.

Talk again soon.

My name is Tina Taylor and I run Life Hypnotherapy 1-2-1, a hypnotherapy practice in Hull.

I had hypnotherapy myself, for weight loss and stress, and found it such a great help that I trained as a hypnotherapist myself and now help other people benefit from it.

I was born in Hull, I live and work here and I love the place. It's a great city, with lovely people and lots of green spaces. Being the UK City of Culture 2017 is breathing new life into the place and letting everyone else see what we residents have always known - it's a great place to live.
